ISLINGTON STREET ASSOCIATIONS (ISA)
Who We Are: A borough-wide initiative promoting inclusive neighbourhood participation.
Islington Street Associations is a well-known and much-loved community organisation based in Islington. It was founded by dedicated local organisers who partnered with experienced volunteers from across the neighbourhood, along with residents of Elmore Street — the very street where Islington Street Associations first began.
Together, they set out to encourage residents to come together and create happier, safer, and better-connected streets in which to live.
To explain ISA’s role as an umbrella organisation supporting community engagement in Islington.

Islington Street Associations
We inspire residents across Islington to make their streets more friendly, supportive, and connected — places where people feel they belong, make friends, enjoy activities together, and look out for one another.
We encourage residents to play an active role in shaping their community life — both socially and civically. By partnering with local networks, organisations, and government, we help residents influence services and make lasting improvements to their neighbourhoods.
We work to bridge gaps between ages, backgrounds, and cultures, helping reduce isolation and strengthen neighbourhood safety. Our focus is on creating streets where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported — street by street.
We proudly work with organisations that share our mission of creating safer, friendlier, and more connected neighbourhoods. Their support helps us bring community ideas to life and strengthen streets across Islington.
